A Movement Adrift Without a Rudder or Oars.

I've enjoyed posting here for over six months, and reading it a lot longer than that, but I must admit I'm considering moving on.

Some inside info from the ground in Wisconsin

Sat, 10/11/2008 - 16:26

There are several scary indicators I have heard from some business colleagues of mine:

1. National car sales for the first 10 days of October are DOWN 37%

2. A very large business owner with over 1,000 employees told me Governor Doyle called him to ask what he thinks about the crisis and how long it will last. My friend could not believe the governor was asking him for advice, probably was asking for a ground report. Doyle went on to tell him that the sales tax revenues are DOWN 20% already for the fiscal year.

I am sure this scenario is being played out in every state--

Ron Paul in 1983 on Power, Morality, Money and Trust. "Paper is not money!"

Sat, 10/11/2008 - 14:02

Once again, Ron Paul was way out ahead of us. Absolutely amazing!

This is part of a longer debate between Dr. Paul and Charles Partee of the Federal Reserve on the Gold Standard. The entire debate can be seen here.

Thank you to Gmartine for the find.

We are heroes.

Sat, 10/11/2008 - 08:24

Let me say that again: we are heroes.

Some of us have raised huge amounts of cash and donated it towards RP and like-minded candidates. Some have led, participated in, or have taken the giant step of simply joining RP Meetups, when politics had never before been a part of their lives. Some have become precinct leaders, not even fully understanding what that meant, just because they knew it was the right thing to do. Some have dedicated countless hours impacting the cause by hitting the streets while others have provided all of their support from their computer keyboards.

Ron Paul the Decider in Montana! He's on the Ballot!!!

During an appearance on CNN’s The Situation Room, Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer, a Democrat, said Montana is “one of the only states in the country Ron Paul will be on the ballot as the Constitution candidate,” and “if you travel across Western Montana, you’ll actually see more Ron Paul signs than you do John McCain. … If you include Paul in the polling, he gets somewhere between five and eight percent. And then Obama and McCain are tied around five.” Schweitzer said, “Ron Paul is going to be the decider here.”

Help me build the Voter Bomb Blog Roll

Fri, 10/10/2008 - 13:55

Cross posted at the Voter Bomb!

As some of you know, I'm trying to build another site called the Voter Bomb. The mission of the Voterbomb is to re-empower Voters, not money in the electoral process.

We have 24 days before the general election. I'd like to see every incumbent Congressman (with a couple notable exceptions - Dr. Paul and D. Kucinich) held responsible for the mess they've created and voted out of office on November 4th. It may be ambitious, but it is a worthy goal to let our representatives know that we're no longer asleep, and it is we the people who hold the real power.

U of Maryland Newspaper Report on Ron Paul's Visit

Fri, 10/10/2008 - 12:12

The persistent politician | By: Kevin Robillard
Diamondback Online

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) appeared before a crowd of several hundred cheering, applauding fans last night at the Comcast Center.

As Paul walked up to the podium, he waved his arms for quiet. Silence filled the room. He began his speech and mentioned the suspension of his presidential campaign.

One voice could be heard above his speech and the crowd: "Write-in!"

While Paul's supporters may not be large in number, they definitely never give up.

The Primary Precondition of Deflation

Fri, 10/10/2008 - 02:47

By Robert Prechter, CMT | Elliott Wave International

The following was adapted from Bob Prechter’s 2002 New York Times and Amazon best seller, Conquer the Crash – You Can Survive and Prosper in a Deflationary Depression.

Deflation requires a precondition: a major societal buildup in the extension of credit (and its flip side, the assumption of debt). Austrian economists Ludwig von Mises and Friedrich Hayek warned of the consequences of credit expansion, as have a handful of other economists, who today are mostly ignored. Bank credit and Elliott wave expert Hamilton Bolton, in a 1957 letter, summarized his observations this way:

In reading a history of major depressions in the U.S. from 1830 on, I was impressed with the following:

Thank you, Ron Paul. Iran Resolution Shelved (H. Con. Res 362)

Fri, 10/10/2008 - 02:10

You may remember this speech from June 26, 2008.

http://www.youtube.com/wa...

A friend of mine sent me this article from Truthout: In Reversal, Democrats Shelve Iran Resolution

The article says, "The game-changer occurred when lawmakers realized that the resolution would lead to a naval blockade and war." I don't think they came to that realization on their own. We can all thank Ron Paul for that. He was all over H.Con Res 362 before it was even introduced, as we hear in the above video.

Once again, Dr. Paul was way out ahead of the rest of Congress, and the rest of us, sounding the warning. What more can I say, but what we have all said a thousand times?

Thank you, Ron Paul.
